PAYE is a graduated tax applied to employee gross earnings above the personal relief threshold. The bands and rates change periodically, and businesses must apply the current rates — not last year's. NSSF — National Social Security Fund

NITA — National Industrial Training Authority

Employers with more than five employees are required to contribute to NITA at a rate of KES 50 per employee per month. BetaSuite calculates this automatically and includes it in the monthly payroll summary.

Statutory compliance is the floor, not the ceiling. Kenyan payroll software must also handle the messy reality of how businesses actually compensate their people:
